Wichita, KS—(May 23, 2012) For the second year in a row, the Wichita Aero Club will offer members, friends and participants in the Third Annual WAC Golf Classic the opportunity to contribute to the organization’s support of aviation education without swinging a club or stroking a putt. By acquiring tickets for the WAC’s Golf Vacation drawing, which was launched at this month’s WAC Luncheon, participants become eligible to win two round trip airline tickets to a world-class Florida resort for a three-day, two-night stay and a golf vacation package that will be awarded on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 17 at the conclusion of the WAC Golf Classic at Crestview Country Club. The suggested price per ticket is $20, with 100% of the proceeds going to the Wichita Aero Club’s Aviation Education Initiative. Tickets can be purchased at the Aero Club, 151 South Whittier Street, in Wichita, by calling 316-641-5962 or at Crestview during the golf tournament.

“You don’t have to be a golfer to participate in the drawing—but it helps,” said Dave Franson, Wichita Aero Club Executive Director. “The trip to Florida, especially if it takes place during the winter months, is a great prize all by itself. Taking an expense-paid, three day golf outing to Jacksonville, Florida that includes three days and two nights at the Renaissance Hotel in the World Golf Village would be great even if it didn’t include a round of golf for two at the Village’s Slammer & Squire Golf Course, a half-hour golf lesson at the PGA TOUR Golf Academy and two tickets to the Golf Hall of Fame and IMAX Theatre—but it does!”

Lodging at the Renaissance Hotel is based on availability. A rental car is not included in the package. Participation in the WAC golf tournament is not necessary to win.
“Participation in the tournament isn’t necessary to win, and being present for the drawing isn’t a requirement either, but the manner in which twe choose the winner also adds an element of excitement and it’s just plain fun,” Franson noted. “We get some help from a couple of professionals who will play in the Preferred Health Systems Nationwide Tour Wichita Open event later in the week and they turn the final choice into a really entertaining and competitive shoot-out! It’s great fun to watch, too. “
