No WAC Luncheon Planned for January; Gala Slated for Saturday, Jan. 28
December 23, 2011 12:58pm
The Wichita Aero Club will begin its fourth year by awarding the second Wichita Aero Club Trophy to Jeff Turner and Spirit AeroSystems on Saturday evening, January 28 at the Wichita Airport Hilton. With the gala expected to draw a large crowd, the Aero Club will not hold a luncheon during the month but will resume its regular schedule in February with a humorous and historical presentation from former Learjet and Beech Aircraft International Sales executive Alex Kvassay on the 22nd. Mr. Kvassay, the son of a Hungarian diplomat, came to the United States following World War II. He worked for Bill Lear at Learjet and for Olive Ann Beech at Beech Aircraft Company. His recollections, supplemented by numerous pictures taken during his escapades over a half-centuryas an aircraft salesman, currently appear in monthly installments in PROFESSIONAL PILOT magazine. Former Learjet Public Relations Director and founder of Sullivan, Higdon, and Sink Advertising, Al Higdon, will also participate in what is bound to be an extremely interesting and entertaining luncheon.
